Chumbe Island
One of our favourite day trips: Chumbe Island. A 45-minute by boat ride takes you to this small, magical island with a towering lighthouse, small Mosque and historical telegraph relay post! The island’s coral reef sanctuary is one of a kind and offers world class snorkelling. Or explore the coral rag forest. The eco-resort offers bungalows to day guests and serve great traditional Zanzibari cuisine for lunch. Enjoy all this while supporting Chumbe’s conservation and education efforts!
